Help a Grandma's Resin Art Hobby Business Takeoff

Hello, my name is Shannon. I have started this GoFundMe page to help get my small hobby/business, Shatoma Bear Creations up and going.

I started making resin keychains by pure happenstance. It started from me doing my own nails. I had a small amount of gel left over so I put it in a dragon mold I had for chocolate (that didn't work). After it hardened, I put it on the back of my phone case. When I went to work the next day, everyone wanted one. I didn't have any more gel, and my oldest son told me about resin. I ordered a small kit and made seven dragons. I gave one to my oldest, who encouraged me, I sold the rest to coworkers. Some of whom asked for other items. So began my journey.

I became addicted to making different items and was encouraged by several people to sell at a flea market. I wasn't allowed to sell because I didn't have the right permits or fees. Then they told me I needed a table, canopy and more items. I went home and started researching what was needed and making more item. I found it enjoyable, and it helped with my anxiety and added to my physical therapy from a stroke.

Now I have the opportunity to start selling my projects at some festivals and farmer markets, but it requires paying booth rent and getting some permits. Since I am just starting out, I am finding it hard to pay for all of this straight out of the gate. I also have the problem that my job has cut my days and hours of work, so money is not flowing.

I am hoping to earn enough to pay for some upcoming events that has already accepted me. One event has three weekends for the year, and the total cost for those weekends is $420. I now have a table, canopy, and tubs to transport my items, but I still need to get so display racks, a logo banner or logo table runner/cloth, and more resin and molds to increase my inventory. The resin and molds would also be used to fill orders that I have recently received through my Facebook page.

I would also like to get some T-shirts with my logo on it for myself and my two helpers and one for my granddaughter, who has decided that she would like to help and support me. It means a lot that she would give up her weekends to help and support her grandma.

I find it hard to ask for help in financial matters, but after having several strokes and the use of a walker, it’s hard to find a job that can help me pay for this endeavor, so I’m hoping that I have family and friends that will help. Please help me get my hobby/business off and running by adding to my GoFundMe account.
