Hi my name is ryver I'm 13 years old

In July 2025 I got given the opportunity to go on a 4 week expedition to Kenya in July 2027 with my school and camps international.. I have to raise the money for this trip myself. (£5190) + more

In kenya I will be doing lots to help there community by helping to build schools and buildings they need in two rural communities ,I will be helping to put up elephant proof fencing ( to stop the elephants from crashing into the villages and there crops ) — deworming and looking after there livestock ( goats ) I will be learning about there culture and visiting a womens refuge and helping there for a day or days. Im going to be working really hard because its not a holiday its to learn there culture and how they live in a low income country.

I,ll be making paper out of elephant dung to bring a source of income to the community and going on a Safari at Tsavo East National Park

Theres lots more i will do but im not sure exactly yet what it is

I get to spend a week on the beaches practicing to scuba dive and litter pick the beaches where I learn how to scuba dive in the pool I will be doing my Padi scuba course and at the end get a quailfaction which means I will be able to scuba dive up to 18meters with a buddy

I have been raiseing money for the trip by looking after friends and family’s pets. I have gone to carboot sales and table tops where I take things people have donated me. And old things from my house plus jewellery Ive made (clay bracelets, Necklaces and earrings). Also sold seaglass pictures out of sea glass from beaches me and my mum have gone to and collected good pieces . I have hosted my own Quiz night.

My main fundraiser Recycling Ali cans

By collecting cans i mean I collect aluminum cans and take them to the scrap man who gives me money for the cans . I dont like when people leave the rubbish on the ground an litter so I picked up loads of cans when walking my dog to put in my own bin, when nana said they can go to a man who melts them and recycles them properly * the scrap man. * I decided to do start cans because it helps recycle more and helps our planet

My mum helped make a social media so its easier for people to contact us about the cans and follow my fundraising journey

Since July 2025 I have collected over 88,000 and weighed in already 54,000 cans

I have Completed 2 weighings the 1st was 200Kg, and the 2nd was 560Kg so 54,000 cans weighed 760Kg the price is done by KG and can range from 5p – 85p depends on the amount and the condition... if there dirty I try clean them but some are just to much thhavi crush then as they need to be crushed if going to the scrap man.

I plan to carry on collecting and taking the cans in right up to May / June when the last direct debt has to be paid... I might continue when I come back from kenya to keep helping the planet and then the money can go to charity.

I store all my cans in my mums living room in dumpy bags and in the shed or grandads garage when his garage is empty.

Right now I have about 8 dumpy bags in my mums living rooms and 3 others in shed I am hoping to weigh them and taking them to the scap man when I reach 14 dumpy bags because thats what I did last time.
