Help Keep Jessica Safe in her Home

Below is a link to information about Jessica's case.  Read it!  Jessica's attacker is due to be released in December of 2021 and could be released at the next parole hearing.  We have to move fast!  $15.000 should help get this done.

We are raising funding to help secure Jessica's home.  Many people have wanted to know how they can help.  People from all over the country wanted to help keep her safe when our own state failed to do so.  Jessica will receive these donations directly.  This will help to pay for a security dog, and an installed security system with cameras and networking capability.   We want to help.  This is how!

This is a tough post, but before today, I had so much optimism...I honestly and truly believed in the good...I thought people who did wrong truly had to answer to that in some way...Especially if they tied their wife up, beat her ruthlessly for 13 hours, burned her, pulled/cut her hair, broke her ribs, tore her rotator cuff, separated her lips from her gums, busted her nose, tried to bust her breast implants, punched her vagina so hard, she lost the sense of urgency to know when she needed to pee, etc.... I believed in our justice system. I believed that there was no way in the world this man wouldn’t have to pay for almost killing the mother of his children.
I was wrong, so very wrong.
The Supreme Court overturned the jury’s decision in convicting Kevin of kidnapping. Apparently, you are allowed to take your wife home and do all these terrible things to her and it is labeled “unlawful restraint” but, if he had said, “I’m going to kidnap you” the night he did these things, his life sentence would stand.
At most, Kevin will be out in 2021, possibly sooner... This is terrible to say, but it’s how I feel...I no longer feel like I support domestic violence awareness...Not at all. They tell you to speak up..They tell you to press charges...They tell you to face your attacker...They tell you justice will be served...Well, it isn’t...victims don’t have a leg to stand on and that’s the truth.
I did every single thing I thought was “strong and right.”
The only thing I really did was make this man more angry and more determined to finish what he started.
In my heart, I believe that I will for sure be killed when he gets out, and since we apparently don’t set examples for living victims, my only hope is that after he has finished what he set out to do, this might be remembered and something might be changed.
God I feel so many emotions for domestic violence victims. I don’t even know what to say...The only thing I can think of is that Kevin was right, he was always right. In his words.....“No one is going to save you, no one is going to help you, no one is going to protect you.”
