My name is Sebastian Musson, and I’m one of Great Britain’s emerging paraclimbers with a clear goal: to compete at the Paralympic Games in Los Angeles 2028. I compete in the AU2 category (upper-limb amputee) and have already earned a European Championship silver medal along with multiple IFSC Paraclimbing World Cup bronze medals, alongside several British titles and consistent World Cup finals appearances.
Climbing with one hand has never been something I’ve seen as a barrier. Instead, it has driven me to train harder, adapt creatively, and prove that high performance is possible in our sport. With paraclimbing making its historic Paralympic debut at LA28, every competition between now and 2028 is a crucial step toward earning selection for Team GB.
To give myself the best possible chance of becoming a future Paralympian, I am targeting the full 2026 IFSC Paraclimbing World Cup season. My planned competitions include Salt Lake City (USA) on 15–16 May 2026, Innsbruck (Austria) on 15–16 June 2026, Laval (France) on 28–29 August 2026, Gunsan (South Korea) from 30 October to 1 November 2026 and Fukuoka (Japan) from November 4-8 November. These events are vital for building world ranking points, gaining international experience, and demonstrating consistent podium potential ahead of Paralympic qualification.
Like many athletes in paraclimbing, all of this journey is self-funded. Travel, accommodation, coaching, training support, and competition fees quickly add up. I am therefore aiming to raise £10,000 to help cover the essential costs of competing internationally throughout the 2026 season.
Your support will directly help me line up against the world’s best, continue my progression, and keep the dream of LA28 firmly within reach. Every donation, no matter the size, genuinely makes a difference at this stage of my journey.
If you believe in backing determined athletes and helping break down barriers in sport, I would be incredibly grateful if you could donate and share this page. Together, we can take another step toward the Paralympic start line.
