Writing this hasn’t been easy, but we believe in honesty and the power of community.
The Pour Up Wine Bar was never just about us.
It was always about creating something for everyone.
A place to gather.
A place to sip.
A place to socialize.
A place where conversations flow just as easily as the wine.
A place where entrepreneurs can walk in and see that doing something you love is actually possible.
Today, we are asking for your help to keep that space alive.
Why The Pour Up Matters
The Pour Up Wine Bar is more than a wine bar.
We are:
• The first wine bar in Antioch
• A proud Black-owned, sister-owned small business
• A space that intentionally supports Black-owned and BIPOC wine brands who often struggle to get distribution
• A place where people come to connect, laugh, heal, and celebrate life
Inside these walls we’ve hosted conversations, game nights, book clubs, celebrations, and moments where strangers walked in and left as friends.
We also created a wine club that doesn’t just sip together — we explore together, taking quarterly field trips because we believe community should extend beyond the bar.
Because we built this space for people who want connection.
The Honest Truth
Like many small businesses, we’ve faced unexpected challenges.
Foot traffic has been slower than expected in this brand-new market.
Operational costs continue to rise.
And while we’re building awareness, the financial responsibilities continue.
We have invested everything — our time, our savings, our energy, and our hearts — into building this dream.
But we are not doing this for ourselves.
We are doing it for everyone who believes spaces like this matter.
What We Hear Every Day
People constantly tell us:
“I love it here.”
“This place is such a vibe.”
“Antioch needed this.”
And we truly feel that love.
Now we’re asking for something more powerful than words — support that keeps the doors open.
Community spaces only survive when the community shows up consistently.
