Help restore the Flat Iron building!

Tax deductible
UPDATE: We are thrilled to announce that with the support of the community, the Flat Iron Building has been saved! However, there is still much work to be done to preserve this iconic piece of Mt. Airy's history for future generations. The Mayor’s Flat Iron Task Force and the Historical Society of Mt. Airy are continuing to fundraise to bring in an architect and explore the best ways to preserve the building. For 120 years, the building has stood at the heart of downtown Mt. Airy and contributes to our town's listing on the National Register of Historic Places.

Preserving the building opens up many possibilities for its future use, and provides functionality of the building as an open meeting space, pop-up art gallery, performing arts venue, needed town storage space, living history museum, community forum, or similar functions of “Adaptive Reuse Architecture” which other historic towns across America have successfully achieved.

You can help by continuing to donate through forums such as this GoFundMe page in order to make the Flat Iron a usable town amenity for years to come. Please also visit the Flat Iron Task Force Facebook page and the resources posted there for the community.
