My name is Sara and on October 28th, I was admitted to the hospital due to a procedure that was performed for my pregnancy complications that caused my water to break prematurely. Since then, I have been in the hospital due to complications and have not been able to work.

While I have applied for short-term disability through my place of employment, there has not been any confirmation on whether my claim has been accepted or not. This is leading to a very stressful time with my lack of income to provide a cushion for when my husband’s job experiences a slow season.

While it pains me to ask, closed mouths do not get fed, and the immediate need is to make sure that we have the funds to make rent, bills, and other unexpected payments that could arise while my family is only on one income.

This hospital journey is anticipated to last, with the best-case scenario, up to February of 2026, and I’m scared about my family’s ability to make ends meet without me to pull my weight financially at this time. This has led me to ask for help from my community outside of immediate family.

With a thankful heart I appreciate every single one of you who have already provided well wishes, meals, gift cards and tokens of encouragement during this time. It is not gone unnoticed or unappreciated.
