Help Samba build the compound for his family

My Name is Nancy Erickson and I live in California. The picture you see is Samba, my wonderful friend who lives in the Gambia. I have known him for over four years now and we are video-chat pals. He is now 21 years old. Below are pictures of family and his current compound building project. He lives with his mother, grandmother, and 17 brothers and sisters in the city of Brikama. The family arrived there about six years ago as refugees from Sierra Leone, where his father was killed in the war. When I first got to know him we had a little fund-raiser to help send him and his brothers and sisters to school. With the money we raised they bought uniforms, shoes, and books, and  are continuing to get their education. A friend of their father's has been housing them in a compound that he now needs to sell.  So Samba is, with the help of some of his school friends, building a compound out of sand, cement, rocks, and wood, the usual practice in their community. The workers are making cement blocks by hand and using them to build the walls. We are raising money to help him buy the materials he needs to finish the compound.  The pictures show him with his family and he and his friends building the compound. Even small donations REALLY HELP!!!! Small donations in American dollars turn into larger amounts in Gambian Delasi because of enormous economic differences.
