My name is Kayla, and I’m starting this GoFundMe for my grandfather, Ron. He is 72 years old and has worked hard his entire life. Even now, he continues to work full-time at Walmart for minimal pay—not because he wants to, but because he has no other choice.
For the past two years, my grandfather has been dealing with ongoing health issues, and this year his condition has worsened. He now struggles with breathing problems and bone disease, and the physical demands of working are taking a serious toll on his body. Every night he comes home in significant pain, exhausted and hurting, yet he continues to push himself just to keep up with basic living expenses.
All my grandfather wants is to be home with his wife—my grandmother—and finally enjoy the peace and rest he has earned. Instead, he worries constantly about paying his bills, his mortgage, and having enough money to live. His monthly housing cost alone is $1,200, and the stress of keeping up financially is accelerating his health decline.
My grandparents are my entire world. I do not have parents, and they are all I have. Watching my grandfather’s health deteriorate while he continues to work breaks my heart. I want to help give him the chance to rest, to heal, and to spend the years he has left at home with the woman he loves—without the constant fear of financial hardship.
I know that times are tough for everyone, and even reading this means more than I can say. Any donation, no matter the amount, will go directly toward helping cover his mortgage and essential bills so he can work less—or hopefully retire—and focus on his health and well-being.
If you’re unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser would mean just as much. Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for helping my family during one of the hardest moments of our lives.
With sincere gratitude,
Kayla
