- My name is Rodney Brewer and my wife's name was Jessica Brewer. On August 12th, 2025, at approximately 6:00 p.m., My wife was shot and killed in Gilbert, Arizona. That day, My life was changed forever. The man who shot my wife was aiming at me. He missed me three times, hit my dog twice, then hit my wife twice. What I thought was just a shot in the shoulder turned out to be one in the shoulder and one that hit her in the lung. Taking her last breath she pulled me in close gave me a kiss and told me she loved me and I could hear her drowning in her own blood. She was my world. My dog was hit in both front paws. The left paw was a through and through it shattered the bone. The right paw was hit between the 2 middle knuckles just broke skin with no bone damage. 2 hours after they cleaned up the crime scene; The Manager of the InTown suites of Gilbert located at 2350 W Obispo Avenue, Gilbert, AZ 85233 knocked on my door 4:30 in the morning and told me that I had to leave because I was part of the problem. So after just losing my wife of 14.5yrs (known for 16yrs) because of somebody's issues that had nothing to do with me; my vehicle(barely a month old $22,000+) was taken into evidence, and I lost my apartment all at the same time. So now I'm on the street with an injured dog and a 62-year-old 100% disabled parent. Taking my wife back to Tennessee was costly ($8,000+) I took a month and a half off of work. Even though I was not prepared (mentally, emotionally, heart broken) to go back to work life forced me to go back anyway and it's been a struggle trying to stay out of the weather. We have a Friend that is helping us out with a place temporarily but it won't last forever. So for those of you who decide to help the funds will go to food, transportation fees and eventually living arrangements for myself dad and Chase Elliot (my four legged child)
