The Clock is Ticking

Hi everyone, my name is Robert Dimond. For the past 11 years, I have been fighting a hard battle against End-Stage Liver Disease. But recently, the fight became a race against time.

Back in October, my doctors gave me a devastating timeline: they told me I had five months to live.

That deadline is approaching fast. This transplant isn't just a medical procedure I "need"—it is the only thing standing between me and the end of my life.

A Devastating Setback

I want to be completely transparent with my supporters. With the funds previously raised, I purchased an RV. The plan was to use this RV as my mobile housing and transport for the surgery, which would have saved thousands in hotel and rental costs.

On December 19th, that plan fell apart. The RV broke down at the Maverik gas station in Clifton, CO. It had been there for less than 24 hours when it was towed. The towing company has since refused to work with me on payments to get it released.

As I write this, they are holding the RV and all my personal property inside. I have lost the vehicle that was supposed to be my lifeline, my transportation, and my home during recovery.

The New Plan: Denver

Despite this massive blow, I cannot give up. My medical care has been transferred to the University of Colorado Health Transplant Center here in Colorado.

Since I have lost the RV, I am now back to square one regarding housing. I must relocate from the Western Slope to the Denver area immediately to be close to the hospital for the surgery and the critical 3-month recovery period.

Why I Need Your Help Now More Than Ever

I am asking for your help to overcome this disaster. Because the RV is gone, I now have to find and pay for a rental in the Denver area, which is incredibly expensive.

The funds raised here will be strictly used for:

* Emergency Housing: Securing a place to stay near UC Health in Denver (since I can no longer use the RV).

* Replacing Essentials: Buying the basic necessities that are currently locked inside the towed RV.

* Living Expenses: Food and utilities while I am unable to work during recovery.

* Medication & Co-pays: The costs associated with the transplant procedure.

The Road Ahead

The 5-month timeline I was given in October is always in the back of my mind. Losing the RV was a gut punch, but I am choosing to keep fighting. Switching to UC Health is the right move, but I now have to make this move without the resources I thought I had.

Any amount you can donate helps get me one step closer to Denver and one step closer to beating the odds. Thank you for standing by me through this nightmare. Thank You Grand Junction and beyond.
