Dearborn Historical Museum Repairs
Tax deductible
On June 1, 2004 the Museum Guild of Dearborn (the Guild) was granted status as a 501(c)(3) corporation (EIN: 010799671), enabling it to “provide volunteer and financial assistance to the Dearborn Historical Museum” (the Museum), funding such programs as the 2nd grade historical program, that teaches local history, other children’s programs such as the Teddy Bear Picnic, the Halloween Party, and for adults monthly lectures and special displays.
Contributions from the Guild have been between $10,000 and $40,000 per year, and have supplemented the budget needed to operate the four building facility.
With the exception of the office, the Museum buildings were built between 1833 and 1838, and one of them, the Commandant's Quarters is listed on the National Historical Register.
Now, the buildings are starting to show their age, and if we don’t act quickly, Dearborn will lose another one of its historic jewels. We are asking for donations to repair exterior wood elements and paint, both inside and out.
Please help to bring this 1830s attraction in the center of Dearborn back to its former grandeur.
