Help raise rental deposit for Joanna & George

Hello, friends and community members,

I hope this message finds you well. My name is Bella, I'm Joanna's bestie. As some of you may have heard on the news or social media, Jo faced an unimaginable tragedy just 4 days ago. Her current residence was burgled, resulting in the devastating murder of her beloved dog, Una (pictured).

The harrowing details of the incident won't be discussed here, but Jo's other dog George (Una's dad) was also home at the time, and unfortunately witnessed the entire thing. Suffice to say, he is bearing the burden of witnessing first hand what happened, too.

As you can imagine, this heartbreaking event has left Joanna in an incredibly difficult situation, emotionally, physically and financially, and she urgently needs our support. She lives alone, and along with George, Una had been her companion, soulmate and hot water bottle for the past 10 years. After this traumatic incident, the emotional toll, coupled with the violation of her home, has made it impossible for her to stay there any longer. Unfortunately, finding a new place at such short notice is a significant challenge in North Devon, especially when considering the financial burden, and the need to find a place which will allow Georgey-boi too.

We are reaching out to our community for assistance in raising funds to cover the deposit for a new rental property. Your contributions will go directly towards providing Joanna with a safe and secure environment where she can begin the healing process.

The funds raised will be used exclusively for the rental property deposit. If additional funds are raised, a small portion of these will be put towards the first month's rent and moving expenses, but the rest will be donated to an animal welfare charity of Joanna's choice (to be confirmed).

In times of adversity, our community has always come together to support one another. Let's rally around Joanna during this difficult period and show her that she is loved and supported after this devastating event, and does not have to face another second in the home which is now linked to such a traumatic memory, that we wouldn't wish on our worst enemies.
