Help quadriplegic build 82 jeep Scrambler

Donation protected

In July 2016 I sustained an incredibly serious bicycling accident. I broke my fifth vertebrae, this left me a quadriplegic, also a wheelchair user, paralyzed from the armpits down with no use of my fingers and hands and very little strength in my wrists and triceps if any at all.

If you have ever known me, you know that I am a jeep lover, in particular, a very unique jeep, my 1982 Jeep scrambler I have had since I was a highschooler is extremely important to me. After breaking my neck, I wasn’t sure what I was going to do with my jeep, after selling my house and most of my possessions in Indiana, I finally found a shop in the Indianapolis area that appeared to be a good fit at the time. I brought my belongings over and we ironed out a contract.

In the end of July 2018, I delivered my Scrambler, in hundreds of pieces to the shop.

We agreed, seven months and $10,000 for them to build my jeep, make it a reliable daily driver for me. They have half of that money, in cash, and more than $30,000 of my jeep components. I have the receipts! They refuse to get back with me. They have been ignoring me for at least a year. They have never done anything to my jeep. They are simply storing it, or by now, they have parted it out and sold it. I have a contract, a list of parts, a bunch of receipts, a pretty competent lawyer involved, and a few friends who live near Indianapolis.

I lived in Columbus for six years prior to A bicycle accident, rendering me a quadriplegic, paralyzed from the armpits down & a wheelchair user... That is why I recruited the shop to build my jeep. I am no longer able to do this kind of thing on my own. I had hopes that someday I would be able to drive a cool vehicle again. I have owned this jeep since 2005. This would have been the third engine swap and second restoration of the jeep I would have done, if you live in the area where I think you might be able to help me, please let me know.  Want to give a massive shout out to my lawyer, John Keyes, as well as Indianapolis channel 4 news! https://cbs4indy.com/news/indiana-native-claims-whiteland-business-failed-to-rebuild-his-vehicle-broke-contract/?fbclid=IwAR0A3L7yfu3Lyf9WCNOOamxxAGd-idt4nCnl3-SdtpswsAjp75cplTzef4w

Here is the only progress photo I ever got.

At this point, I am hoping to raise money for two reasons, to pay a new shop to build my jeep and to donate 10% of the proceeds to the lawyer that was willing to take on my case pro bono

The jeep is now at a shop in Wisconsin, Le Voy’s nut and bolt shop! I’m hoping this will be its final place of assembly they are evaluating the opportunity to build the jeep for me, it is going to cost between 10 and $16,000, therefore, I’m hoping to raise a little bit of money to help me cover some of the cost of the project. I have also gotten a new job so hopefully I will be able to accomplish all of my dreams, as I have wanted to have this jeep converted to diesel for more than 15 years already! Thank you so much for your help!
