COVID19 AFFECTING GIRLS ACCESS TO SANITARY ITEMS

WE ARE FORGETTING OUR YOUNG WOMEN IN NEED DURING THIS COVID-19 PANDEMIC!
100 GIRLS HAVE REACHED OUT TO US IN JUST ONE DAY!!
We are Anima Youth, a youth-led charitable organisation working with young people from disadvantaged backgrounds across London. Since the Covid-19 epidemic, we received emails form girls all around London detailing their struggles in accessing sanitary & essential items for themselves. The reasons are due to financial pressures within the family, and not being in school where sanitary pads where freely and easily accessible.
We launched a Emergency Response Campaign, and secured some funding to start providing the boxes. However, we officially launched on 14 APRIL 2020, TODAY IS 15 APRIL 2020 AND WE HAVE HAD 100 COMPLETED FORM REQUESTS FOR GIRLS UNDER 18 LIVING IN LONDON EXPLAINING THEIR DESPERATE NEED FOR A BOX.
We never imagined we would receive such high numbers of requests. In just ONE DAY, we have received the amount of requests we expected in ONE MONTH. We are therefore close to exhausting our funding, and we need to turn to the public so we can continue to provide this basic need.
these brave girls have said they aren't wanting to put additional pressures on their families by reminding them of some basic things they need, girls are finally getting money together going into shops and finding shelves bare, girls are saying there parents are suffering from covid-19, self employed and others are saying their working parent has been laid off work.
Please help us reach more girls. We have been lucky enough to have been verified by a discounted supplier, who is offering us 80% off sanitary pads and essential items - THIS IS HOW WE ARE ENSURING OUR SUPPLY, BUT WE NEED THE FUNDS TO CONTINUE.
£12 will get a girl: a reusable box, enough sanitary pads for her cycle, and essential toiletries such as soap, wipes, tooth paste and small items of dry food e.g. dried fruit and cereal bars AND non-contact delivery straight to her house (or safe place near her house).
