Help Provide a Christmas to Rocklin Families

The Rocklin Chamber Ambassadors are raising money for our annual Adopt-A-Family program which benefits families in need in Rocklin, CA. We work closely with the school district to identify those who are in most need and we provide a holiday to remember. Our team members meet with our families to see what their immediate needs are. This includes finding out how many people live in the household, sizes of clothing and shoes, favorite music and toys and basic essentials that they may be lacking.
To kickoff the holiday season, a fully prepared Thanksgiving meal (with all the trimmings!) is delivered to our families by members of our team. Sometimes this means going to a hotel where a family is temporarily living while awaiting other housing arrangements. Other times its knocking on the door of an rv to find that a family doesn't have a proper fridge or way of heating up food. It's a sober reminder that although we live in a prosperous region, there are many among us who struggle to get by day to day.
With weeks before Christmas, our Ambassador elves fill up carts of clothes and toys. With Christmas music blazing in the background, we gather up armfuls of wrapping paper, tape and bows & have ourselves a fun-filled day of wrapping. The day comes when we get to invite the families to come to the Chamber office and be greeted by Santa. To their amazement, they walk into a board room full of gifts just for them, all sorted by family member. Each member of the family gets to open 1 present that day and they each get a bag to go 'shopping' for new socks (we ALSO do a sock drive and collect over 1000 pairs of socks). It's amazing to see how grateful these families are for something as simple as socks - and we're not talking just one or two pairs - a whole bag full! At the end of each family celebration, we help load up gifts to be taken home for Christmas morning.
We know that this year will be especially tough for many area families - kids are not able to interact with other kids & teachers as they normally would and parents are finding themselves out of work due to the effects of COVID-19. Our fundraising efforts have been impacted in a year when they'll probably be needed most. We are most grateful for any contribution!
