Puerto Rico Rescue

Donation protected

We are proud to announce that on October 4th, 2017, the “Puerto Rico Rescue” team secured its first independent flight, which will deliver 1,000 pounds of life-saving donations directly to Puerto Rican families need. The flight will depart from Lakeland, Florida, on Saturday, October 7th, and will arrive at the Rafael Hernández Airport in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, that same day.

This effort has come to fruition thanks in large part to renowned Business and Life Strategist, Gary Coxe, who is no stranger to providing humanitarian aid to the victims of natural disasters. As recently as a few weeks ago, Mr. Coxe (who is also a licensed pilot), delivered much-needed aid to Key West, Florida, during the aftermath of Hurricane Irma. Mr. Coxe is affiliated with Angel Flights, an organization of pilots who volunteer their own aircraft and services for medical and humanitarian missions.

The flight will ensure that donations are delivered to the western part of Puerto Rico – an area that has received significantly less post-hurricane relief aid since Hurricane Maria made landfall on September 19th as a Category 4 hurricane (1 mph shy of being a Category 5). The western and central parts of the island suffered some of the most devastating effects of this unprecedented storm. Most of the residents in this area are still without water, electricity, or communication, and are running low on food. Many were left homeless, as the powerful wind destroyed their homes.

Our team has partnered with trusted Non-Profit Organizations in Puerto Rico that will be responsible for the distribution of the donations, ensuring that each package is delivered to the intended recipients.

The “Puerto Rico Rescue” team would like to thank each person who has donated, as this flight would not be possible without all who have supported the crowdfunding and crowdsourcing efforts started exactly one week ago today.

Major update!!!

As some of you already know, a lot of the supplies are not being distributed in Puerto Rico. Our focus has shifted to distribution and building trustworthy teams to do so.

We have ave a pilot available to fly a jet full of supplies to Puerto Rico this Sunday and possibly bring people back if we come up with the funds to cover the cost of fuel and expenses.

Otherwise, we'd have to ship little by little which would still help tremendously. My concern is that calls continue to come in to say they are out of food, water, and has to replenish their supplies.

I know that if we all come together we can do this. Please share with everyone you know! Every little bit helps!

Héctor Arroyo grew up in PR and is going back home to help as many families as possible within the next week. He and his friend, Pedro Perez, hope to clear some roads,  get necessities to the residents, and provide communication to those who have yet been able to reach their families.

We have had several requests to bring goods that are either not available or not accessible in Puerto Rico at this time.
These funds will be used for the following:
-chainsaws, which need to be new in the box in order to bring into PR
-engine oil, which is scarce there or hard to get to
-power tools
-boards, nails, ropes, etc
-battery operated fans
-canned goods, toiletries, and much needed supplies for the overcrowded shelters
Upon their return, all of the remaining supplies will be donated for the residents to continue the work with, including all of the tools.

Hurricane Maria did a lot of damage to Puerto Rico and the help of many is needed to restore what used to be a beautiful island. They will be heading out by the end of this week and would appreciate any contribution ASAP. Your help is greatly appreciated.
