Help PapaX Replace Car Damaged by Driveby Gun Shots
Spende geschützt
Refugee Dad, who depends on driving DoorDash to help pay the bills, had his car shot up a few weeks ago. We're trying to replace it ASAP, as the car as returned by the police, triggers nightmares.
PapaX, one of the three dads that I work closely with, the father of 5, delivers food at night to earn extra money for his family, as so many immigrants do. He lives in Bellingham, Washington, in a lovely college town. But June 15th, much to everyone's terror, he was the victim of a gun crime. He was fired upon while IN HIS CAR waiting at a light, in a case of mistaken identity (no one should fire at a car, really, read the police report and news stories. Just crazy stuff).
Narrow MISS:
PapaX ducked down, and thankfully he was not hit. So physically, he is okay. But his car was hit by multiple rounds. The car was hit with several bullets, penetrating the hood, and even scratching the windshield right where it ricocheted, saving his life. Now he just can't drive it. PapaX will need to replace the car, both for safety and psychological reasons.
He is the "rideshare" driver referenced in the crime report from Bellingham PD shown here. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/19nxy7ZT92/
- "The suspect fired multiple rounds and then fled with the rest of his group. The car he just shot had nothing at all to do with this incident and was an uninvolved rideshare driver, who thankfully was not injured. His car sustained damage from multiple rounds."
PapaX needs our help. This is where you come in. He needs a replacement used car, and he will have lost income from taking some time off from driving delivery so he can recover. He is very shaken up and overwhelmed that this could happen in his new town.
Please help me take some of the financial stress off PapaX and his family as they work to recover from this violent crime.
All the funds will be dispersed by me directly for a replacement used car, or to PapaX to replace lost wages as he recovers.
Bellingham Police are posting the emerging story on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/bellinghampolice
Reliable, older used vehicles in Bellingham (qualified for ride share driving) run about $8,000 at a minimum, including tax and license.
PapaX has asked us not to share his photo for fear of retaliation, attack as a witness. So here's a little something to put a human face on his family.
