It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of our beloved Solomon Sagato Maaka.
Whānau was everything to him.
Staunch and fiercely protective, loud and proud of his tamariki their partners and mokos, he made sure everyone knew the depth of his love.
A fearless dad and the softest, most proud koro, he treasured his nieces and nephews and was a steadfast big brother to many.
Those who knew him knew how firmly he stood by his values. He loved his whānau deeply, always putting those he cared about first. He crossed the ditch to create a better life for himself, a life that was sadly, cut short far too soon.
His mokos were always at the forefront of everything he did. His legacy is one of unwavering love, loyalty, and pride in his family a legacy that will live on in all who were lucky enough to be called his whānau.
Our family now faces the difficult task of bringing him home to rest among his loved ones. The costs of transportation, funeral arrangements, and related services are more than we can manage alone. We are reaching out humbly, asking for support to honor him and give him the farewell he deserves.
Every contribution, no matter how small, will help bring him home to NZ and allow us to celebrate his life and legacy properly.
If you are unable to donate, sharing this page or keeping our family in your thoughts means more than words can express.
His love, care, and unwavering spirit touched everyone who knew him. Though he is no longer with us, his memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him
