My roommate Raylee and I recently rescued a young cat named Iris who showed up on our back porch. She’s under a year old and needed a safe place, so we welcomed her into our home. We already have a cat, and both of them now need vet care—wellness exams, vaccines, flea treatment, and spaying for Iris. Even with a low-income discount, we can’t afford all the necessary care and supplies like litter, food, and flea medication.
Raylee works full time as a preschool teacher and is planning to start college in the fall. I work two jobs and go to school. Student loans and living costs make it hard to cover unexpected expenses, but we’re committed to giving our cats a happy, healthy life. We’ve gotten pet insurance, but it doesn’t cover these costs. There are so many kitties in the world that need homes, and even if we aren’t the most financially blessed right now, we still want to give them lots of love and care. To be honest, we need them as much as they need us.
We would appreciate any support, big or small. Your help means so much to us, and our kitties. Thank you for being part of their journey to a safe and loving home.
