Before sharing Osman’s story, I would like to briefly explain how I came to know him. About a year ago, Osman reached out to me through Instagram. Over time, we spoke regularly, and I learned about the challenges he and his family were facing after the loss of his father. Wanting to help, I contributed toward a donkey cart so he could earn an income, and for the past year I have also helped with groceries, Quran learning materials, and other necessities whenever I could.

Alhamdulillah, the donkey cart has provided some income, but it is still not enough to meet the needs of his family. For the past year, I have done my best to support them using my personal savings. However, I am currently without a job, and my savings are running low. It has become increasingly difficult for me to continue providing the level of support that Osman and his family need on my own.

For this reason, I am creating this fundraiser and asking for the help of the wider community. Every donation, no matter how small, can make a meaningful difference in helping Osman support his widowed mother, his younger siblings, and the children he teaches in his village Quran school.

My name is Osman Kanagie, and I am reaching out for support during a difficult time for my family.

A few years ago, we lost my father, and since then the responsibility of caring for my family has fallen on my shoulders. I am the eldest son and provide for my mother and my three younger siblings. We are a family of five trying our best to get through each day.

Currently, I earn a small income using a donkey cart, but it is not enough to cover our basic needs, food, clothing, school expenses, and household costs. My younger siblings are attending school, and we are worried about being able to afford their school fees for the upcoming year.

My dream is to purchase a motorbike so I can work as a taxi rider and earn a more stable income. This would allow me to support my family, keep my siblings in school, and become financially independent. If enough funds are raised, I would also like to start a small business that can provide long-term stability for my family.

In addition to supporting my family, I spend time learning and teaching the Quran to children in our village. We have a small Quran school, but it faces many challenges. The children often have to write on wooden boards because we do not have enough books or learning materials. Many of these resources are worn out and difficult to replace.

Any support, no matter the amount, will help:

• Provide food and basic necessities for my family.

• Pay school fees for my younger siblings.

• Help purchase a motorbike for work.

• Buy Quran books and educational materials for children in our village.
