Help Ocea battle cancer holistically
Spende geschützt
Thank you for visiting this page and for taking your time to read my story. I know that everyone has their burdens and I dearly appreciate your willingness to help me with mine. Some of you have been following my journey from the beginning. For those of you that are new to my story, here is a timeline:
My name is Ocea Symmes, I'm 26 years old and for the last 3 years I have been battling cervical cancer.
On July 31, 2020, I first received the news: I was diagnosed with cervical cancer. In September of that year, I underwent surgery that promised a 96.6% chance of “non-recurrence,” This statistic was a great relief. After the trials of this hardship, I was feeling optimistic and inspired. 2021 was shaping up to be one of the best years of my life; I felt the happiest and healthiest I'd ever felt. I had been planning to embark on a solo cross-country road trip, so I packed up and moved out of my house in preparation for my journey. Traveling has been a lifelong dream of mine. But just 2 days before heading out on the road, my doctor called to say that tests showed the cancer had returned. My spirit was crushed!.
Instead of traveling across the country, I spent part of my summer and fall receiving chemo and radiation therapies at University of North Carolina Hospital. After completing the treatment, my doctor ordered a PET scan (Positron Emission Tomography, an imaging method, similar to an MIRI or Cat Scan) The results came back so clear that my doctor suggested that we would not need to order another PET going forward; this outcome only happens 2% of the time. It was February 2022 and things were looking up again.
Five months later, in July of 2022. An Ultrasound revealed a mass on my uterus.. I spent the next 8 months having a series of biopsies and PET scans in order to determine if the cancer had returned. Despite the biopsies coming back clear, the PET scans were worrisome and a board of doctors has now recommended that we treat this as full-blown cervical cancer, the treatment would involve a radical hysterectomy, followed by another round of chemotherapy. I'm not willing to pursue this course of treatment. I believe my body is still recovering from the chemo and radiation from my treatment in the fall of 2021.
After three years of following the recommendations of the medical system with treatments that have not been effective, I decided to seek alternative courses of treatment. They were able to remove the cancer, but not able to eradicate the cancer completely. The current medical treatments focus on the conditions/symptoms but not the cause(s). The care plan is not holistic and doesn’t take into consideration all the aspects of the person. A person is multi-faceted and while removing the cancer is a first step, it falls short of addressing all the factors at play. I believe that more consideration should be placed on the whole person and their lifestyle, mental health, environment, etc., and focus on changes that would prevent the return of the cancer.
After much research and consideration, I have chosen to follow an alternative and holistic form of therapy. The plan I have decided to use has been successful in curing cancer and I am encouraged to have discovered this method. This alternative course of treatment is called “Bio-resonant Ultrasound Therapy''. (I will leave a link below for anyone interested in further information.) It uses ultrasound frequency emission that would move through my body at a cellular level, destroying all the cancerous and damaged cells, but unlike chemo, which can't differentiate between good and bad cells, and is very toxic to the rest of the body, this treatment is safe for all healthy cells. This program also does cellular data analysis monthly to determine progress of treatment, any causes of cancer, and what changes need to be made in life-style to improve immune function and prevent cancer from recurring. This treatment is a 100% comprehensive and personal program that is specific for my health/healing needs..
On top of all of the great health benefits this non-invasive alternative treatment would provide – it is something I would be able to do while asleep in my bed at home: I wouldn't have any additional expenses such as: travel, lodging, meals, additional medications or therapies . Nor would I have to make life-altering changes. I could continue working, going to the gym, and living my life as if I were completely healthy. Beyond that, I could still travel the country and live a satisfying and fulfilling life, which would include pursuing my dreams and furthering my goals. Because of previous surgeries my desire to have children of my own is not possible, but the possibility of living a healthy and satisfying life can still happen for me.
This awesome treatment comes with a price that is much more than I can afford on my own and is not covered by insurance. The cost of the program will be about $10k, for a 12-month treatment plan, with some additional one-time expenses for instrument use training and travel.
With my ability to work unimpaired, I will be able to fund part of this treatment myself going forward, but for now, I need your help because time is of the essence and this treatment needs to begin immediately!
In addition to this new treatment, I am starting immuno-therapy at UNC while I work on saving the money to begin my chosen treatment. Ive also met with an Integrative Cancer Care team at UNC to evaluate diet and necessary lifestyle changes. They recommend I start therapy to work through past and current trauma, which can be a big hindrance on healing cancer. It’s no surprise that these treatments are costly even with insurance. I'm hopeful that with the help of my community and my ability to still work a full time job. I'll be able to afford these treatments without adding too much extra stress to this event that is already so incredibly heavy to work through
I have already made many lifestyle changes like cutting sugar from my diet, quitting drinking completely and working towards incorporating a fully plant-based diet – changes which the ICC team at UNC are encouraging.
I hope I can count on your support. It would mean the world to me and would greatly help to allow me a life of healthy living. Any amount will help. 1 million pennies add up, so whatever you are able to share without compromising your own well-being will be a blessing to me.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story.
