Friends, we need help. Most of you know by now that I have been with the most wonderful person for almost six months. God answered my nightly prayers. If you've spent any time with Neo, you would quickly experience how kind, nurturing, and gentle he is. He has a huge passion for designing and constructing wedding gowns, as well as doing the best job he can at work, and going to the gym every day.

Ok Micah, that's great, but why a GoFundMe? Neo is from another country. He came to this country legally in 2019 and has been following all of the steps in order to be granted his asylum. He has a social security number, he pays taxes, and he has his current work permit. Neo has no criminal record.

Why is all this important? One of the last steps to be granted asylum is to attend your interview. It takes years of being in this country for your interview to be scheduled. Neo and I learned that his interview had finally been scheduled…after the fact. He had zero communications about his interview, so he had no way of knowing that he was missing it.

You can imagine the devastation and terror he has felt since that moment. I am working with him to correct the course, but we need to hire some legal assistance, something that neither one of us is financially prepared to do.

So here we are, being vulnerable and humbly asking for help. I believe that we are taking the right steps and we aren't in complete danger yet, but we need the legal help of experienced immigration firms. We have already begun working with a wonderful woman who is fantastic!
