I, Heather Bassett (Fort Saskatchewan, AB) along with Niada Monkman (Hay River, NT) need your help in assisting our long-time friend of 39 years.

On February 28, 2022 Nancy (Grimm), Daniel (Clark) and their 3 children lost their home and all of their belongings to devastating floods in Codrington, Australia

As I prepare this, they are still very much in survival mode as they continue to selflessly rescue and feed their community and neighbours as members of the SES Coraki rescue team.

Their plight to rebuild will be long, and unfortunately, not covered completely by insurance.

For now the family’s wish, once everything has settled, is to return to Canada to re-set and heal from this horrific event. It has been several years, due to Covid, since they have been able to see their Canadian family.

Please help in this cause to heal their hearts in preparation to tackle their long journey ahead to re-build.

Costs for flights from Australia to Canada and return are approximately $3000.00 per person. 16,000.00 is our goal to cover any accommodation enroute and fees included in using the gofundme site.

Any remaining funds will be used in the future towards the rebuilding of the family’s house and land that is not covered by flood damage insurance.

Nancy’s parents Peter and Carol will be the Canadian beneficiaries of all funds raised and then they will transfer to Nancy in Australia.
