My name is Tom I am James’s twin brother.
I’m creating this fundraiser without James knowing because I want to do something that could make a real difference during the hardest time of his life.
At just 35 years old, James was diagnosed in April 2026 with stage 4 incurable /inoperable Gastro / esophageal cancer (linitis plastica), a rare and aggressive form of stomach cancer that has metastasised. Our world was turned upside down the day we received the news. James is currently undergoing chemotherapy and immunotherapy, and the treatment has been incredibly difficult. He relies on a feeding tube for his nutrition, has spent long periods in hospital, and is facing challenges that no one should ever have to endure. Despite everything, he continues to show unbelievable courage and determination.
Like many families, we thought James’s life insurance would provide financial support if the worst ever happened. Sadly, we discovered that his policy did not include critical illness cover, leaving him and his family facing significant financial worries at a time when their only focus should be on his health.
My goal is to ease that burden by helping with household bills, travel to and from hospital appointments, everyday living costs, and, if suitable opportunities become available, to help fund specialist treatment overseas that could offer additional options in the future.
More than anything, I want to give James the best chance to spend as much quality time as possible with his seven -year-old son, creating precious memories that will last a lifetime. No family should have to choose between paying the bills and making the most of the time they have together.
If you know James you’ll know he is one of the kindest, hardest-working people you could ever meet. He’s always been the first person to help someone else, and he would never dream of asking for help himself. That’s why I’m asking on his behalf.
Whether you can donate £1 or £100, every contribution will make a real difference. If you’re unable to donate, simply sharing this page could help it reach someone who can.
On behalf of our entire family, thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support. It means more to us than words can ever express, and it will help give James the best possible chance to focus on his fight while making unforgettable memories with the people he loves.
