Help my sister Elena fight for her housing rights

My name is Katharine. My older sister by 4 years is named Elena. She is joyful, curious, creative and has a wonderful personality and sense of humor. She is also nonverbal and on the autism spectrum. Elena made me who I am today. Like a lot of young adults with disabilities, finding the right place to live with the right supports is an almost impossible challenge. After seven years of looking, Elena found a wonderful home. It's called Sweetwater Spectrum. Its mission statement says, "There are currently few appropriate housing options ... where adults with autism and other developmental disabilities can thrive and even fewer that can serve them long-term."

Sadly, Elena was the victim of abuse by one of her service providers, in July, but Elena is strong and resilient. Elena always finds a way to optimism and happiness despite challenges. Now incredibly, the landlord that exists to serve people with autism is trying to evict Elena after she was the victim of physical and verbal abuse. My dear sister, who is beloved by so many, is facing substantial legal fees as she tries to protect her most fundamental right - the right to housing. Any support you would consider providing would be deeply appreciated.

All funds will go exclusively to Elena's legal representation. Any remaining funds will be split evenly, and donated to autism support at the Child Parent Institute of Sonoma County and Firefly Autism.
