Help My Mom Recover After Kidney Cancer Surgery and Serious Complications
My mom is one of the strongest and most hard-working people I know. At 75 years old, she still works full-time as a paralegal at a law firm, always showing up for others with dedication, warmth, and integrity. But right now, she needs our help.
On October 27, my mom had surgery to remove one of her kidneys after doctors discovered a tumor that turned out to be cancerous. What was expected to be a routine four-day hospital stay quickly turned into a life-threatening ordeal.
Since the operation, she has faced multiple complications, including pneumonia and two pulmonary embolisms (blood clots in her lungs). These serious setbacks have kept her hospitalized for nearly three weeks, and she will soon be transferred to a rehabilitation center to continue recovering and regain her strength.
Despite her fighting spirit, this long and unexpected journey has brought significant medical and financial strain. Between extended hospital care, upcoming rehab costs, and time away from work, the expenses are overwhelming.
We’re asking for help to cover:
• Hospital and rehabilitation costs
• Out-of-pocket medical expenses and medications
• Transportation and care needs during her recovery
My mom has always been the first to lend a hand to others—whether at work, in our community, or for her family. Now, she’s the one who needs support.
Every donation, prayer, and share means more than words can say. Thank you for helping us lift some of the weight off her shoulders so she can focus on what matters most: healing and getting back home.
With love and gratitude,
The Sera Family
