Hello,

My name is Kranthi Kiran Jalakam. I am a 24 year old international graduate student currently pursuing my Masters in Nova Scotia, Canada.

My family consisting of my mom, dad and brother are currently in India (the state of Andhra Pradesh). They were all diagnosed with Covid-19 today (10th April 2021).

My mom has been admitted to the hospital today because she had difficulty breathing after days of feeling unwell. She is in a serious condition and being diabetic has made her condition more complicated. She was previously tested for Covid but the test turned up negative. However, after further tests today, the test turned up positive and she was admitted to the hospital. X-rays have shown that over 60% of her lung capacity has been reduced.

My dad and brother have been showing symptoms as well over the past few days.

Both my parents are retired since over 5 years and do not have any income source. My mom is a retired nurse and my dad is a retired banker. Both of them are over 60 years old. They have spent a lot of their savings on me and my brother's education all these years. They are the most charitable people that I have ever seen and always gave back to those around them whenever they could.
My parents are the most compassionate, caring and loving people there is and are always there for the people around them.

My brother has been out of work for the last half year and has nearly exhausted all of his savings in hospital bills. We are quickly running out of our funds and need funds immediately to help support my parents and my brother get through this. Every bit will help. The funds will be used towards hospital bills and taking care of my parents and my brother and are required urgently.

I am deeply grateful for those of you are are able to contribute. Every thought and prayer would help too.
