Spende geschützt
(Note: I am starting the fundraising on behalf of my mother)
Hi!
I am Diana El Sakka, a 53-year-old Gazan currently residing in Sweden with my family. I am reaching out to you in dire need of help for my brother, Walid Al Sourani, and his family—his wife, Maha, and their sons, Khaled (25) and Amir (21). They have been trapped in the Gaza Strip since October 7th, desperately attempting to evacuate to Egypt.
They have been moving constantly within the Gaza Strip from one town to another, desperately trying to escape the imminent fear of bombings. Since the start of this war, they have moved to different locations 8 times. Their final destination is the most southern town of the Gaza Strip, right next to the Egyptian border, Al Mawasi in Rafah. Not only are they battling the fear of bombings and imminent danger with no guarantees for tomorrow, but also the lack of resources in Gaza has reached a critical point—starvation. And even if food were available, the astronomical prices make it unattainable for many.
My heart breaks witnessing the plight of my brother and his family from a distance. I've lost relatives and friends while being unable to help. My deepest fear is receiving devastating news about my family. Additionally, my nephews, Khaled and Amir, are seeing their dreams of education and a bright future fade away due to the difficult circumstances and constant bombings of schools and institutions.
Communication is severely hindered, with sporadic phone and internet access due to frequent network disruptions. As their sister and aunt, I am determined to secure their safety to escape this genocide and provide a chance for them to rebuild their lives. However, all the recent news indicates that Rafah will be next, which will leave them with no other place to escape but Egypt. However, just crossing the Egyptian border requires an astonishing amount of money— a minimum of $5000 per person.
The aim of this campaign is to gather funds to evacuate my brother's family from Gaza through the Egyptian border. The funds will cover crossing the Rafah border, visa and passport expenses, as well as GoFundMe transaction fees.
In the first picture, you can see my brother and his sons, Khaled and Amir, and my son as well. Last summer, in July and August of 2023, we (my children and I) were able to visit and see my brother and his family after 11 years.

In the second picture, you can see my children and my nephews Khaled and Amir in Gaza, August 2023.

This is my beloved brother Walid and me.

The following pictures are from my brother's house, which was originally our parents'. It's where we grew up and spent all of our childhood.

Your support is crucial in making this evacuation possible. Any contribution, big or small, will bring us one step closer to ensuring the safety and well-being of my brother, his wife, and their sons.
Your kindness can make a life-changing difference.
With gratitude,
