Dear friends, family, and compassionate supporters,
As a mother, it’s my greatest joy to see my children grow and thrive. But on January 2nd, 2025, my youngest child, D’Mesha Hodge was involved in a devastating bike accident in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. In that moment, our lives were turned upside down.
D’Mesha suffered a severe head injury as a result of the accident. She had to be airlifted from Schneider Regional Medical Center in St. Thomas to Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, FL, where she is now receiving specialized care.
Thankfully, her medical expenses are covered, but her recovery is far from over. D’Mesha faces a long and challenging road to regain her strength and independence. She will need extensive rehabilitation, therapy, and long-term support to help her heal physically, emotionally, and mentally.
As her mother, it’s heartbreaking to see my baby girl go through this. But I know she is a fighter, and with love, encouragement, and the support of those around her, she can overcome this.
This is where I need your help.
I am reaching out to our community to rally around D’Mesha in this time of need. Your support will allow us to cover additional costs such as therapy visits, travel expenses, and any other resources she needs for her recovery journey.
Here’s how you can help:
Donate: Any amount will make a difference in helping D’Mesha access the care and support she needs beyond what is covered.
Share: Please share this campaign with your friends, family, and networks. The more people who hear D’Mesha’s story, the more support we can gather for her.
Pray: Your prayers and positive thoughts mean everything to us and give D’Mesha the strength to keep fighting.
D’Mesha is not just my daughter. She is loved beyond words, and her laughter and joy bring us all together. She has so much life left to live, and I believe, with the help of kind and generous hearts like yours, she can get there.
From the bottom of my heart, I thank you for standing by us during this incredibly difficult time. Your love, prayers, and support mean more than I can ever express. Together, we can help D’Mesha overcome this and move toward a brighter future.
With love and gratitude,
Michelle Powell
