My mom (66) and stepdad (69) have spent years turning a small vacant lot next to theirs in Ohio into their garden and a place to play for their grandchildren.
It’s where they grow vegetables, flowers, and herbs… and it’s also the little spot where all the grandkids play, explore, and spend time together as a family.
This place has become our family’s peaceful outdoor space — full of memories, love, and moments that mean everything to us.
But now the land is going to be sold.
Once it hits the market, there’s a very real chance it will be purchased by a builder or developer — which is happening all over her town right now. If that happens, the garden and the kids’ safe play space would be gone forever. They do not have any room in their yard for these things. The land floods anyway, and a developer would have to grade it to where all of the runoff goings into their existing yard where they live.
My parents are getting older, and they deserve stability and a peaceful place to enjoy their retirement years. They shouldn’t have to worry about losing the garden or space they’ve poured their hearts into.
I want to help them buy it — but I simply can’t afford it.
I just started a business this year and every dollar has gone into getting it off the ground. I don’t have the $15,000 needed, no matter how badly I wish I could.
So I’m reaching out for help.
We’re trying to raise $15,000 to buy the property so my mom and stepdad can keep the garden they love, their house does not turn into a drainage runoff zone, and so the grandkids can continue to have a safe place to play.
Your support will help protect:
• The garden they’ve tended for years
• A peaceful space for them as they age
• A safe place filled with family memories
• ❤️ Their ability to enjoy retirement without fear of losing their sanctuary
• A small green space that could easily disappear if someone else buys it
Anything helps — even $1 or sharing this link.
Thank you for helping us save this special place for our family.
