Help Moogly Get the Medical Care He Needs

Hi, my name is Erica, and I’m reaching out to you with a heavy heart and a hopeful spirit. My dog, Moogly, has been battling serious eye issues since last year. Despite our best efforts, his condition has required multiple eye procedures, and unfortunately, he still needs more treatments to give him the best chance at recovery and a normal life.
Moogly is my best friend and watching him go through all of this has been incredibly tough, but I’ve never stopped believing that he deserves a chance to live a pain-free life.
To give you an idea of his journey, here’s what he’s been through:
- Last year, he scratched his eye, and he was treated with an eye ointment and pain medicine.
- A couple of months later, we noticed that his eye and the surrounding area looked swollen, so we took him to three separate vets, who all said he was fine.
- Knowing he was absolutely not fine, we took him for another opinion, and we were told he needed to see a veterinary eye specialist.
- After taking him to the eye specialist, he underwent two separate procedures with some improvement at the beginning of this year.
- Unfortunately, last week he developed significant swelling that extended from the top of his head to the tip of his snout. The swelling was so intense that he was unable to open his eye and unable to eat.
- We took him to the emergency vet the same day, but we were told he would need a CT scan of his head to determine what exactly is causing these issues.
- We then took him to a vet who provides CT scans for pets and were told that, without the CT scan, the vet would be unable to diagnose and treat him any further.
These treatments are really expensive, and even though we’ve been doing our best to keep up with the bills, it’s just getting too much to handle on our own. We have already spent over $2,000 and were given an estimate of over $3,000 for the next steps, not including anything after the CT scan. Additionally, because it this is now considered a pre-existing condition, none of the pet insurance companies will cover any of his vet visits or treatments.
