Help Me Grow Monty’s Chick

Hi, my name is Monty and I am eleven years old, I am building my own egg business called Monty’s Chick.

What started with a small flock of five hens, one Cockerell and a dream has become something I truly love and work on every single day.

I care for my chickens myself, collect and clean the eggs, buy feed, refill water, clean coops, and sell the eggs locally.

Every pound I make goes straight back into my business to help it grow.

So far I have funded everything myself from egg sales, feed, bedding, feeders, drinkers, equipment and looking after the hens properly. I am incredibly proud of that and the hens and what they reward me with, but I have now reached the point where I could really use some help to take things to the next level.

My dream is to build a proper pasture-raised egg business with happy hens living on fresh grass in mobile chicken tractors instead of static coops/runs. Chicken tractors would allow me to move the hens onto fresh ground regularly, giving them a healthier and more natural life while also producing better eggs.

I am already growing my flock by incubating my own eggs and raising chicks myself, which I absolutely love doing. However, it takes time for chicks to grow to point of lay before they begin producing eggs. Recently there has been a demand for my eggs, which I am so happy about and did not expect it.

I would really love to invest in some point-of-lay hens this season so I can increase supply, keep existing and new customers happy, while continuing to grow my own flock naturally for the future.

I also dream of one day having egg vending machines in every city so people can buy fresh farm eggs directly from me at any time of day. It is a big dream, but I truly believe with hard work, dedication and support from kind people it may well be possible.

I am not asking people to build this for me; I am already working hard every day to build it myself. I am asking for a helping hand to assist me to grow and give my hens the best life possible.
