Supporting the Heart of Our Family Through Her Healing Journey
Hi everyone,
I’m reaching out because my mom really needs some support right now. She’s 50 years old and honestly one of the most loving, caring, and family-driven people you could ever meet. She’s the heart of our family & always putting her four kids (and her two spoiled puppies) before herself. She’s the kind of person who shows up for everyone, no matter what. Now, it’s our turn to be there for her.
Back in February, my mom started having abnormal bleeding. Since she’s in menopause, that was immediately concerning. My Nana — her mom — had both Ovarian and Uterine Cancer at the same age my mom is now, with no symptoms at all. Because of that family history, her doctors are being extra cautious.
Her blood work has been coming back abnormal and during an ultrasound, they found that her uterine lining is much thicker than it should be about 5–6 mm instead of the normal 1–2 mm. When they tried to take a biopsy, they couldn’t get a good sample of the thickened area, so her doctor made the decision to remove it completely and have it tested for cancer.
Even with insurance, the medical costs are a lot. Her portion of the hospital bill alone is already over $3,000, not including the anesthesiologist, the doctors’ fees, or the cost of staying overnight. She’ll also need about two weeks off to recover, but she doesn’t have enough paid time off to cover that.
I set a goal of $5,000 to help with her hospital bills and recovery costs. Every dollar will go directly toward helping her heal and giving her a little peace of mind during this scary time.
If you’re able to donate, even a small amount makes a huge difference. And if you can’t, please share this with others who might be able to help or send prayers and good thoughts her way that means just as much.
We as a family are trying our best to remain faithful during this time, here is one of my favorite verses on healing:
3 John 1:2 - “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers”
Thank you all so much for taking the time to read this and for supporting my mom and our family. We’re truly grateful for every bit of love, kindness, prayers, and generosity.
