My name is Paula, I am a college friend of Misi Cate. The following is from a post she wrote. Please if you are able to help, Randee did not have life insurance and Misi and the kids were in Ohio when he passed away.

My heart is shattered. Broken into more pieces than I could count. Lily wants to know why. Simon reflects on funny stories. I'm in a daze. There are far too many things that I have to get done and can barely think about. My brain tends toward the checklist, but right now it's completely overwhelmed by all the emotions.

Randee passed away Saturday evening. That was while the kids and I were at a fair near my mom in Ohio. I received a call at 2 am from the deputy coroner. I've slept about five hours total since then. Thanks to a generous friend, we were able to fly to Seattle yesterday and made it back to Wenatchee today. I am thankful to the deputy coroner, who told me what I need to do first today. Still trying to make that decision. How does one decide what funeral home to use for a spouse they weren't expecting to lose?

My heart hurts and I just don't know how I'm going to function, especially in the near future. We love him and miss him already. Please continue to pray for us. Thank you.
