Help Mirakye receive the best treatment for cancer

Dear Friends of Mirakye

We are Louise Reid-Simmons and Anne Redsell, two of Mirakye’s dearest friends, reaching out to ask for help.

We are heartbroken to learn that Mirakye has been diagnosed with breast cancer which requires immediate treatment starting with surgery on Thursday 1 Feb 2024.

She has stepped out of the shop and will be unable to work in her usual capacity for at least six months while she recovers from surgery and has ongoing treatment.

You all know how extraordinarily generous Mirakye is - with her time, her gifts and acts of loving service for her family and community. Many of you have been touched by and/or witnessed her kindness & selflessness over the decades. 

People flock to Epoche to bathe in her warmth and to receive a compassionate, listening ear and to have an open hearted conversation. Epoche was created to be “a nurturing heart space” and she certainly has achieved that over the last 17 years.

In order to keep her gorgeous shop open Mirakye will be employing staff full-time and will not be able to draw a wage for herself. Her medical bills will be ongoing for surgery, testing, chemo, pain relief and whatever else is advised. In order to look after herself holistically she would also like to access extra healing modalities, such as Integrative Medicine, Naturopathy, Dietetics and emotional and spiritual support. 

We are striving to help Mirakye receive everything she needs.

Now it is our time to nurture her and the most beneficial way is through your financial support.

It is estimated that over the next 6 months of treatment (and possibly longer until her to return to work) she will need $45,000 to help with her loss of income, medical expenses, a special diet and her chosen healing modalities.

We are asking you, her friends and community, to help her get the best possible treatments and health outcomes by contributing to this fundraiser.

This is a very sensitive and vulnerable time for Mirakye, her family and staff at the shop. We appreciate your discretion and consideration for her staff and other customers when entering the shop.
