Michael and Bob are longtime partners who built a quiet, loving life together. Today, that life has been turned upside down.

Bob is a senior who was recently diagnosed with dementia after a period of rapid cognitive decline. Before the diagnosis, Bob was the victim of a cruel scam. Someone convinced him he had won millions of dollars, gained access to their bank account, and drained their entire life savings. Everything Michael and Bob had worked for is gone.

Bob’s health has deteriorated quickly. He has been in and out of hospitals and rehabilitation facilities due to repeated falls and an increasing inability to care for himself. Bob is also a Type 1 diabetic who can no longer safely manage his insulin or blood sugar.

One recent rehab stay was not fully covered, something that was not properly communicated to Michael. He is now facing a $5,000 bill.

Michael is now Bob’s full-time caregiver, overnight and without support. He cannot leave Bob alone, cannot work, and cannot step out even for basic errands. He has been forced to become a nurse, advocate, and constant presence while navigating an overwhelming medical system, all while managing his own health challenges.

There is no safety net. No savings. No backup caregiver.

This fundraiser will help cover the immediate $5,000 rehab expense, along with basic living costs, medical and caregiving needs, and any support that allows Michael to care for Bob safely.
