If you haven’t heard Mel has been having medical issues.

On Thursday Mel went back to the ER as we suspected my shingles diagnosis progressed to meningitis, which a lumbar puncture confirmed with some oddities. A a diagnostic MRI that showed an unexpected and likely not related brain tumor on my pituitary gland, requiring immediate surgery. I was taken ambulance from AG Community Hospital to UCSF within 18 hours of the finding and will have brain tumor removal surgery as early as tomorrow. It’ll be unclear whether cancer is a factor until it is removed and biopsied thereafter.

The funds raised will help alleviate the stress of both Mel and Mike being off work for the next few weeks or longer. Mike will have to stay at a nearby hotel that’s 20 minutes away as they don’t provide patient housing for support people.
