The devastation caused by the LA fires has been nothing short of heartbreaking. Like so many of you, I’ve been watching in horror as entire communities are wiped away, leaving countless families with nothing but the little they could take with them when told to evacuate.
One of those families is my childhood friend Megan and her young daughter. Their home and everything in it has been destroyed by the fires. While they were able to evacuate safely and are currently staying with friends, they now face the daunting task of rebuilding their lives from scratch.
Megan and I grew up together in LA, and her family has always been the type to show up for and help others. Odds are, if you spent time in LA, too, they’ve touched your life in some way. Now it’s our turn to show up for her.
Recovering from a disaster like this is more than just finding a place to stay or filing assistance claims. Government assistance falls far short of the actual costs—temporary housing, replacing clothes, food, toys, furniture, and basic essentials are just the beginning. Then there’s the pain of losing irreplaceable items such as heirlooms and family photos.
This is where we come in. Together, we can help ease the burden and give Megan and her daughter a fresh start. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a difference and reminds them that they are not alone in this journey.
Let’s show Megan the power of community and help her rebuild not just her home, but her hope as well.
Thank you for your generosity.
