Help Megan Become a Professional Pilot!

Hi!

My name is Megan and I am determined to become a professional pilot! I was fortunate to earn my private pilot license in September 2023 but have not been able to fly much since then, as training is very expensive. Becoming an airline transport pilot requires up to ~$100,000 and several certifications and ratings. Most flight school loans have very high interest rates, which keep many from making the dream of flying a reality.

In addition to applying to scholarships, I have been working full-time as a flight dispatcher to stay sharp and expand my knowledge. I've also been volunteering with the Ninety-Nines, an all-female pilot organization whose first ever president was Amelia Earhart. As you can see, I am making the most of my situation by saving up and working in the industry, but it's time that I ask for some help.

I learned through my experience of pursuing my private pilot license that flight training requires discipline, strong time-management skills, and the ability to move on calmly in times of distress or mistakes. I'm finally ready to get back in the air and do it right! If you find yourself able to donate any amount, I promise it will not go to waste. I have plans to pass my fortune along once I've made it through to the other side by offering free flights to potential aviators/aviatrixes and EAA Young Eagles. I will also stay involved with the Ninety-Nines and other aviation groups. The sheer wisdom I have been granted by experienced pilots has catapulted me forward in my training, and I'm excited to offer this (as well as flights and money) to others in the future.

This was taken during my cross-country solo flight, during which I flew from KTIW-KKLS-KSPB-KTIW by myself! That was by far the most memorable and enjoyable flight I've ever taken, because that was the day I realized I can do the dang thing! :)
