Sheryl Almeida’s Medical Treatment & Expenses

On be half of the Almeida and Kawahakui Ohana. We kindly ask for your help in reaching our goal to relieving some of the financial hardship that the family has now encountered.
Sheryl was born and raised in Waialua where she met and married her husband David. Together for 30 years, they have 3 children plus countless students and hanai children that also call her “Mom”. She is a teacher at Waialua High & Intermediate and has always been willing to help and support her students.
2020 has been a tough year for everyone, For Sheryl she was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). She has had numerous chemotherapy treatments and is now in the ICU fighting for her life. With her treatments leaving her with little to no white blood cells, Sheryl experienced complications during her treatment and she is now battling two different infections.
At this time, the most important concern her doctors have is getting Sheryl stable enough to fly out to California. There she will receive a bone marrow transplant at Our City Of Hope Hospital, but is unable to make an appointment until she is strong enough to be discharged. David has been by her side every day and has exhausted all his vacation and personal leave. Medical bills are starting to pile up and we would like to help them in anyway we can.
Sheryl and David are not ones to ask for help so we are asking for your help, whether it be monetary or saying a prayer of healing for Sheryl. We understand that this is a difficult time for everyone but we and the family greatly appreciate your support in anyway.
