My name is Millie, and I am 19 years old. My health challenges began at age 13 when my knee dislocated during a martial arts warmup. Since then, it has dislocated 30 times. By January 2025, I was diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, a connective tissue disorder that causes frequent joint dislocations, severe dizziness, chronic pain, and falls.

Because walking even short distances is painful, I need specialised mobility aids to regain my independence. Therefore, I am raising funds for a custom manual wheelchair, a power add-on, and a detachable front wheel. These tools will be life-changing because:

Custom Manual Wheelchair: Ensures I can sit comfortably, reduce dislocations, and prevent falls by being designed and built bespoke to my needs and preferences.

Joystick-Operated Power Add-On: Allows me to move independently without risking shoulder dislocation. It also includes an attendant controller so my family can assist if I am unable to do so.

Front Wheel: Enables me to navigate off-road terrain and finally take my dog for walks again.

Together, these aids will help me manage my symptoms and live without severe pain and fatigue. They will allow me to enjoy life more fully and better handle my symptoms when out and about, whether alone or with my family.
