Help Me Help My Mom Beat Melanoma

On June 23, 2020 my mom, Rosemary went to a dermatologist to have a painful lump removed from her shoulder.  My mom first noticed the lump about 5 months ago. Our family was so relieved when she was able to get the lump removed and was finally out of pain.  Sadly, on July 2, 2020, our family received devastating pathology results that shook us to our core. My mom was diagnosed with Nodular Melanoma, an aggressive form of skin cancer. My mom doesn't have health insurance and since moving to the state of Texas 3 months ago, she does not qualify for assistance programs through MD Anderson or UTMB. My mom won't qualify for assistance for another 3 months which means she must self pay for her treatments. Time is not on her side and she needs treatment immediately. We have yet to find out what stage cancer shes at until a PET scan and MRI are performed. These scans, along with the rest of her treatments are incredibly expensive. Her doctor wants to perform surgery pending the results of her scans and put her on immunotherapy. My mom is in a fight for her life and I am not too proud to admit that we need help. I don't want to lose my mom because we couldn't afford to get her the treatment she needs. My uncle on my mom's side passed away in 2007 from Melanoma.  I can't imagine losing my mom to this deadly cancer.
