Help me compete abroad….

My name is Skyla, I am an aspiring karate athlete. I have done karate for as long as I can remember and it has always been a part of my life. I want to get as far as I can.

I started competing at 4 yrs old and have countless medals from all across the UK. In 2022 I started my journey competing in Europe and won my first medal abroad in Dutch Open Youth. In 2023 I was selected by the England Northern Regional Karate team to fight in Berlin at the Berlin Open Championships. At the event I fought up in the U14’s in my weight category, and came 5th in a strong category. I also competed in the team event where we faced strong teams , I earned a Bronze medal in this category.

July 2023 I attended the World Karate Federation Youth Camp where I trained with different World, European and Olympic Champions, it was a great experience and I learnt lots. I then competed in the competition at the event facing girls from many different countries - I won a Bronze medal which was a massive achievement! 

September 2023 at the World Karate Federation Youth League in Mérida, Mexico, I moved up into the youth league to compete in the U14 +52kg category. I faced tough opposition and managed to come home with the Bronze medal, which is a fantastic step in my journey. I have since fought at all of the WKf youth leagues including Venice, Fujairah, Spain, Mexico. I am continually trying to improve and push myself to be the best I can!

Karate is a self funded sport so my aim is to raise funds to allow me to keep competing at this level. Any donations towards flights and accommodation whilst travelling would be really appreciated or if you know of any companies please share my page…
