Help Me Bring This Dream to Life: Midsummer in Oxford

Hello, my name is Beloved, I am a graduate of The Ohio State University and proud resident of Cleveland, Ohio pursuing my passion for the arts through the powerful medium of storytelling. Acting has been a transformative journey for me, one that has brought about incredible opportunities and unexpected blessings along the way. By the wonderful grace of God, I have been honoured with the chance to study abroad this summer in England at the prestigious Midsummer in Oxford program (July 12th- August 10th), hosted by the British American Drama Academy (BADA).

This program is renowned for its rigorous classical training, with students often coming from MFA programs or extensive theatrical backgrounds. As someone who is still in the early stages of my formal training, being accepted into this program is more than just an opportunity or experience; it’s proof that passion, dedication, and faith can open doors that once felt out of reach.

Stepping into the role of David Alexander in James Baldwin’s The Amen Corner at Weathervane Playhouse was nothing short of life-changing. In celebration of the play’s 60th anniversary, this critically acclaimed production honoured Baldwin’s brilliance, unflinching truth, deep humanity, and his fearless storytelling. The images you see here are from that very production, a testament to a role and experience that deeply shaped me. Bringing David to life not only strengthened me as an artist but also as a person. It challenged me, pushed me beyond my limits, and solidified my passion for this craft.

Humbly, I need your help to make this dream a reality. Your donation will go towards the program's asking amount of $8,350 + transportation and accommodation. I am seeking support to ease the financial burden of this once-in-a-lifetime experience. Please help me in fulfilling God's promise to supply our every need.

Breakdown:

Tuition $4,700 (Due April 1st, 2025)

Accommodations $3,650 (Due April 30th, 2025)

( A single private room in Magdalen College campus and breakfast, lunch and dinner, Monday-Friday, in Magdalen College Dining Hall)

Transportation: $1,800+

Goal: $10,000 (Before May 1st, 2025)
