OT service in Kampala Uganda

Dear Friends,
I have had the privilege of travelling to Kigali, Rwanda for a month last year to assist with providing a course to the sisters of Charity. My last week there, I provided support to the residents they care for. My background of Occupational Therapy was invaluable. There were adults with mental health problems and developmental disabilities. I assisted the sisters with providing appropriate goals for each of the residents, inserting such goals and strategies in a weekly schedule for them. I helped out with feeding and positioning concerns as well. The support was so welcomed that they have invited me again, but this time to go to Kampala, Uganda to assist at another convent. Most of their challenges are communication, behavior and self-care. Their ages range from 6 to 32 years of age.
I am reaching out to you, friends, for financial support.
Presently, I am able to bring 2 pieces of luggage that I intend to fill up with foam, duct tape, pool noodles, a walker or two, perhaps a commode and bath chair; toys and activities for the residents would also be of great value for the residents as providing meaningful occupation to the residents would help with decreasing challenging behavior and promoting increase in self concept and self worth.
With your financial help, I can, hopefully bring a few more goalie bags worth of equipment and activities for the residents. If ever I should have excess moneys, once in Kampala and once I assess the resident's needs, I can also go out in their community and purchase what I can that would help provide them a better quality of life .
