Hi there! My name is Shelby Ying Hyde. I’m a 32-year-old dog mom to an 8, almost 9-year-old pitbull-husky mix by the name of Maximus. If you know us in real life, then you know that not only is Maximus happiness personified, he’s also my heart outside of my body. That said, in the last six months, Maximus has been experiencing extreme lameness and pain in his back right leg. As a result, 2025 was filled with countless doctor’s visits, including a trip to an orthopedic surgeon. Luckily, we were able to rule out things like ACL tears and arthritis but have yet to get to the root of his pain. So his team of doctors has suggested we get an MRI to pinpoint the cause. However, we were quoted a price range of $3,500 - $3,900, not including any additional scans or therapy treatments that follow.
I got Maximus when he was 3 months old, while I was in the thick of an abusive relationship, and if it was not for him, I’m not sure I would have made it out, years later. He is the reason I’m still here today and deserves the best care in the world. Unfortunately, I don’t have the means to do so alone, so I’m kindly asking for help to give Maximus even a fraction of what he deserves for being my strength.
