Help Mariam to complete her study in medecine outside Gaza

In a moment of extreme need and despair, I, Yasmin, a Palestinian living in the United Kingdom, am reaching out to you.

I ask for your help in raising money for my sister Mariam so that she can travel and complete her studies in school of medicine.

I am Mariam , a 5th year dedicated and ambitious medical student at Islamic University of Gaza, I am committed to pursuing a traitraining in healthcare that is grounded in excellence, empathy, and continuous learning. My journey in medicine has been characterized by a strong academic foundation, hands-on clinical experience, and a deep passion for patient care. but suddenly everything changed for me this year , I was on the brink of realising my dream of becoming a doctor in human medicine but the recent events in Gaza have shattered these hopes.

The ongoing crisis has left me worried about my future, uncertain whether all my hard work and dedication will be in vain.

During the war I was a volunteer in hospitals, trying to provide care for the injured and the displaced. My unwavering dedication became a symbol of hope amidst despair, inspiring those around me to persevere in the face of adversity. At the beginning of war I worked at Alshifaa hospital in the emergency department and after its invasion I moved to Alahli hospital and worked as a surgeon’s assistant in the operations room of surgery department , I was able to observe doctors communicating in difficult situations such as the lack of medical staff and medical equipments ,the medical care is so poor and I realised the effects such illness can have on the patient and their families and appreciate how fulfilling being a doctor would be in such circumstances so I decided to pursue my study and become that doctor who will help make a difference to the lives of the future.

The war has stolen everything from me , first of all is my university and all the hospitals where I practiced medicine were reduced to rubble , leaving my dreams in ruins.

Second one is that my house has been partially destroyed, we forced to evacuate from it many times under the sound of bombshells to search for safe shelter amidst the chaos .

The intensity of the bombing forced my family and me to leave our home, carrying only the essentials.

What made the evacuation worse is that the situation in Gaza is dire, especially in the north where i live, because there is limited access to essential resources like food and water .

Last thing is that my family has lost all the financial resources they have

My dad’s clinic and my uncles’ company have been destroyed , this made us live in a very hard circumstances and affected my ability to continue my study.
