Help Maria visit her Dad in PR

Hello Everyone –
I'm sure we all know someone connected to the tragedy of Puerto Rico due to Hurricane Maria. My someone, is my friend, Maria Rios.
Maria’s dad lives in Puerto Rico and she desperately wants to visit him, as well as, take supplies to him. Maria’s dad is currently without power and is not receiving mail or packages. Having an aging parent in such a vulnerable situation is unimaginable. It’s been unbearable for Maria. Yes, he could come here and yes, we would love to have him. The simple truth is that he is 80 years old and wants to be at home and continue the clean- up process, with his wife. He is asking that all of his children come to visit him soon. Maria’s dad does not ask for anything from his children, so you can imagine the heartache she’s feeling not being able to get to him immediately.
Those of you who know Maria, know she has been dealing with her own medical issues for years. Years of emergency room visits and hospital stays has left her with mounting medical bills, leaving her in a tough financial position.
Maria is too proud to ask for help and I know she would never do this on her own, so on behalf of her broken spirit, I’m asking you to donate as much as your heart is comfortable with. The money would go towards Maria’s plane ticket(s), traveling expenses and supplies for her dad, such as lanterns, batteries, transistor radio(s), cold/flu medication, flashlights, canned goods and anything else I can think of that would help Mr. Rios in his time of need. He mentioned to Maria that he really thinks he could be without electric for a year, so the amount of batteries he’ll need alone, will be very costly.
Everyone needs help in their life, at some point, during their journey. The time is now for Maria and her dad. I am hoping that we can get Maria out to her dad, to ease her mind and bring a little peace to her life, and his.
