Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted supporters,

I am reaching out to ask for your help and support for my aunt, Maria Alvarez Rozo, who is currently facing the fight of her life. Maria is only 40 years old and was recently diagnosed with Stage IIB squamous cell carcinoma of the cervix.

On July 8, 2025, Maria received the devastating diagnosis of cervical cancer. Just a few weeks later, on July 22, 2025, her doctors officially staged her cancer as FIGO Stage IIB. Since then, she has begun an aggressive treatment plan at TGH Cancer Center under the care of Dr. Matthew Anderson, Gynecologic Oncologist.

Maria is now undergoing weekly chemotherapy (cisplatin) combined with whole pelvic external radiation therapy (WPXRT). These treatments are physically exhausting and emotionally draining, and while Maria is fighting with incredible strength, the side effects have already taken a toll. She has experienced severe nausea, difficulty sleeping, and reactions to her medication, but despite it all, she continues to push forward with courage and determination.

As you can imagine, the medical bills, travel expenses, and costs of supportive care are overwhelming. Maria has always been someone who puts others first, but now she needs our help. Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward easing the financial burden of her cancer treatment and giving her the best chance at recovery.
